SFB 1244

Our challenge is to create emission-free buildings for more people in the future with significantly less material. Findings from research show that adaptability can open up new perspectives - for a sustainable transformation of the building industry.

  1. Mai 2023 / 09:00 – 18:00 Uhr

Exciting speeches by experts will give insight into research on adaptivity and therefore into the future of the building and construction industry!

  • Prof. Konrad Bergmeister,  BOKU Wien
  • Dr. Peter Richner, EMPA (Materials Science and Technology)
  • Prof. Manfred Curbach, TU Dresden

The "SFB 1244 Symposium – Adaptive skins and structures" will take place on the occasion of the 70th birthday of Prof. Dr Werner Sobek, former head of the Institute of Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design (ILEK) and initiator of the SFB 1244.

Following the symposium, the exhibition "Adaptive Architecture" will ceremoniously open in the Demonstrator high-rise, D1244. The exhibition will take place on at least eight of the twelve levels and will also be open to visitors at the IBA'27 Festival in June 2023.

The D1244 is thus a project of the International Building Exhibition 2027, StadtRegion Stuttgart (IBAʼ27) and for this reason, will be showcased to the public as one of the spotlights. More information about the IBA'27 Festival can be found here: "IBA'27 -Festivals"

Updates on the further program of the symposium will follow shortly.

To register, please send an email to pr@ilek.uni-stuttgart.de. We will then send you all further information.
